Lower Limit For Micro-rolling was created by Archived Forum Admin
We are carrying out a feasibility study to replace tungsten carbide wire drawing dies with micro-cassettes in one of our wire drawing machines. Our target is to produce 0.84 mm low carbon wire with micro-rolls, keeping the ovality tolerance within +/- 0.01 mm. However, we are not quite sure, if we can obtain such a small size with micro-rolls without any problems.

Is there a lowest possible limit for the wire size that can be obtained with micro-cassettes on which most of the industry professionals agree? If yes, what is this value and would it be possible to obtain this size within +/- 0.01 mm ovality?

In principle cassett rolling is used to draw bigger diameters , big quantities with mayor tolerances.

This could be confirmed with companies on the field like Eurolls and Frigerio
