Heating Cable was created by Archived Forum Admin
Recently I saw a 5 core cable having 5 different types ( material ) and size of conductor.

Cable is overall shielded and sheathed with PVC.

Can anybody tell me what is the end use of this cable and why all 5 conductors are of different material and size? I guess it is a Heating cable but could not guess the end use.

regards,

Hello again Rajeev

In order to determine a cable type and manufacturer you must describe it in detail. In your case this would include the conductor gage sizes and dielectric materials and thicknesses. Remember we cannot see what you see.

See www.stewart-hay.com/zipper1.htm for a case in which we were looking for the manufacturer of a series of very old CATV cable sizes found in some areas of North America. This was resolved successfully.
