Taping of Type SE-U cables was created by Rodrigo O'Byrne
Hello friends,
At our plant we are making test runs of type SE-U Cable, but we haven't been able to find a formula or reference for calculating the mass per unit length of the helically applied tape. Does anybody have this formula or maybe a technical paper on tape and finish covering for type SE-U cables??
Thanks and regards,
Rodrigo O'Byrne

Helical Taping
Here is a Wire Journal International paper that should give you sufficient geometric insight so that you can do all calculations. Remember that weight of tape per unit width at some standard tape length must be be provided by your tape supplier.
Title: Concentric taping machine vs dual pad excentric taping machine.

I went to the WAI Abstract Search and looked for the article but could not pull it up.

If you cannot find it there, contact the WAI's education department as follows:

Thanks for your help Peter,
I wasn't able to find the article on the abstract search but I've already contacted the WAI's education department for the article.
Fortunately I'm a member of the WAI, so I hope to receive the article soon. Take care,
Rodrigo
