This is a new thread with the entry moved from another thread as it was quite off-subject.
Hello Spectre:
Here is the way I understand it (E&OE);
Mills & Partners, Inc., (St. Louis, MO) specializes in the acquisition and operation of commercial and industrial manufacturing companies. It has many companies in its portfolio. ( www.mills-partners.com )
The International Wire Group, Inc. ( www.mills-partners.com/operating/wire.htm ) is one of three holding/ management companies owned by Mills & Partners, Inc. IWG, Inc. and manages one section of the Mills & Partners, Inc. companies. It is located in Camden, NY. The operating management team of IWG, Inc. is led by Joseph M. Fiamingo and Rod Kent.
There are many companies in the IWG, Inc. section but the appropriate wire manufacturers/ converters seem to be:
- The former Camden Wire Co. (Camden, NY) now Camden Wire
- Continental Cordage Corporation (Cazenovia, NY)
- Italtrecce S.r.l ( www.italtrecce.it/ )(Italy)
- IWG High Performance Conductors, Inc. formerly the Phelps Dodge High Performance Conductors plants in SC and GA
- The former Spargo Wire Co. (Rome, NY) now Spargo Wire

***** Update July 10, 2006 International Wire Group exits insulated wire business, concentrates on conductors
"CAMDEN, N.Y., 10 July 2006. International Wire Group Inc. has sold its insulated wire subsidiaries in the Philippines and Mexico to Draka Holding N.V. and Draka Mexico Holding, S.A. de C.V. (Draka). These transactions, together with the sale of certain U.S. insulated wire assets to Copperfield LLC in November 2005, complete IWG's exit from the insulated wire business."
***** Update June 24, 2008 International Wire Group to acquire the U.S. business of Global Wire
From the WAI Connection Volume 7 Number 12. "U.S.-based International Wire Group, Inc. (IWG), announced that it has entered into an agreement to pay $28.6 million to acquire the U.S. assets and operations of Global Wire, Inc., as well as certain equipment owned by an affiliated company.
A purchase agreement calls for IWG to acquire Global Wire’s plants located in Littleton, New Hampshire and Jewett City, Connecticut. The Littleton, New Hampshire plant will be purchased outright, and the Jewett City, Connecticut plant will be leased, with an option to purchase at a later date, it said, adding that some equipment being purchased will be moved from Israel to the U.S. plants. The to-be-acquired operations serve the aerospace, electronics and data communications and industrial markets, the release said."
