Energy-efficiency become more and more important in industry (not only in the automotive industry). If you visit today an important fair the buzzword is energy-efficiency. It would be interesting to know the energy costs for 1kWh in different countries. In Germany the costs for 1kWh is ca. 0,15...0,2 EURO / 0,2...0,25 USD.

Today I have read in the latest digitaledition of an american wire and cable magazine an advertisement with the big marketing slogan "Think energy recovery" and a picture of a windmill and the latest development of this company.
In the last issue I have read the advertisement of another company with the small note "70% energy savings" and a 3D picture of a similar cable machine as above mentioned.
So ... the marketing machinery of the wire and cable machinery manufacturer starts refering energy costs ... (Waste of energy is market as energy saving)
I hope that the cable companies (at least the address for this advertisements) could distinguish between really energy savings and only big marketing slogans (marketing jokes)...
The best saving is
"Don´t pump unnecessary energy into a sytem" (KISS-principle -> keep it simple -> good product)
and not
"after pumping unnecessary masses of energy into a system, recover them back" (GIGO-principle)
Best regards
